Part 9: Improves Skin Tone

10 ways Massage can benefit You.

This series is designed to encourage you to 'ReThink Massage' and open up your understanding to the benefits outside of just relaxation.

#9 Improves Skin Tone

Massage has many roles to play in encouraging the healthy functioning of our bodies. With the addition of essential oils, it is one of the most effective ways to detoxify the body and it's systems. Massage also aids either directly or in-directly in the proper functioning of internal organs, giving your body the chance to operate at full capacity.

The use of Aromatherapy in massage not only sets the mood but also plays an active role in the elimination of toxins by improving blood circulation and balancing hormones - all of which can result in better skin tone.

Areas & ways Massage can help.

Cellulite

Massage decreases lymphatic blocks and sluggishness, which helps prevent the fat stores that cause cellulite to build up beneath your skin. Also increases blood supply and oxygen to your skin cells helping them to repair.

Improved tone and texture

Increased blood flow to cells aids in boosting your immune system through lymphatic drainage. So this leaves your body better able to get rid of toxins and waste products that would otherwise manifest through your skin.

Improves elasticity of your skin

Helps you to appear younger, can reduce wrinkles and maintains suppleness.

Reduce tension in your skin and connected tissues.

Massage can relax and stretch the delicate muscles to help release and reduce tension.

Helps to re-moisturise & soften the skin

Massage can encourage the increased production of Sebum, the skins natural protective oil. This can combat dryness and ageing.

Increased nutrition to the cells

By stimulating better circulation, the blood can deliver more of what the cells need.

Helps your skin defend against infection

Massage can improve and strengthen your immune system.

Dilates the capillaries in the skin.

This increases the uptake of vital skin repairing nutrients and can improve the colour and tone of the skin.

Superficial scar tissue reduced.

Massage can also re-align scar tissue post surgery.

As you can see, there are many ways that a regular massage can help you to look and feel more healthy and beautiful. It is a good idea to accompany a good massage with optimal nutrition to gain the most benefits and longevity. My advice is:

  • Drink plenty of high quality filtered water - daily.

  • Drink 2-4 cups of good green or white tea - daily.

  • Eat plenty of organic greens, coloured vegetables, fruits and high quality proteins and fats - daily.

  • Steer clear of processed, sugary, salty foods - so anything in a packet or fast food products.

  • Find a releasing motion that you love and do it daily if you can (think yoga, running, dancing, hiking, or walking).
